About the House of Franck Muller
Founded in 1992 by master watchmaker Franck Muller and watchmaking specialist and entrepreneur Vartan Sirmakes with the aim of creating exclusive timepieces characterised by complicated movements and original designs, the House of Franck Muller is today one of the most acclaimed independent watch companies in contemporary watchmaking. An award-winning brand, Franck Muller is known for its highly exclusive technical complications, many of which are proprietary innovations, produced in-house within its Manufacture in Genthod, Geneva, endearingly known as Watchland.
From the simple sketch of a world premiere mechanism to the execution of its plans, and from the construction of a prototype right through to the monitoring its production — every stage of manufacturing a watch is followed through to its successful completion at the heart of the house’s own workshops. The degree of hand finishing and hand craftsmanship on Franck Muller timepieces and their grand complications are exemplary and well known throughout the industry. The care, patience and attention given to each component are tremendous. A Franck Muller movement ranges from between 200 and 1,483 components for the most complicated one, which takes years from its conception until completion.
Thanks to its incredible in-house capabilities, the house pushes barriers of watchmaking further and further with innovative complications and great technique whilst fully respecting the Swiss watchmaking tradition. With more than 50 world premieres and patents, Franck Muller has been dazzling the world with creations that have been received with great enthusiasm by watch connoisseurs and celebrities alike, and designs that combine boldness and creativity, representing major technical advances in the history of haute horlogerie.
